“Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we all shall be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for trumpet shall sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” I Corinthians 15:51,52
Are you Rapture ready? This is a question I present to the Body of Christ. I know for an unbeliever the notion of the Rapture may seem a little science fictional, but please know that it’s going to happen real soon, rather you believe it or not.
How can I be so sure of it? Because the Bible says so. As a born again believer, we believe the Bible as being the infallible Word of God, and there is no false information contained within it. So, I encourage all unbelievers to research the Rapture a little further and hopefully you will prepare your heart to be a part of it when it happens.
However, this letter is not written to the unbelievers. The purpose of this Open letter is to remind the Believers everywhere that the event is at hand and the Lord admonishes us to be ready.
The thing that the Lord would have me to share with you is, there is no guarantee that all Believers will go up in the Rapture. This is a special blessing given only to those believers who anticipate it happening and have prepared their hearts to receive the Second Coming of Jesus Christ when He comes.
The gospel of Matthew 25:1-13 gives us a good understanding of this. First, it points out that all those that are mentioned in the text were considered virgins. In biblical terminology that means that they all were considered God’s people or chosen of God. Secondly, the scripture tells us that they all were legitimately part of the wedding party (the Church). Thirdly, all ten of the virgins were guilty of falling asleep. But the Bible says that of the ten virgins, five of them were considered wise and five of them were considered foolish. Why is that? Because five of the virgins had prepared to receive the Bridegroom when He came and five did not.
The Bible says that He would come at a time of darkness, referred to as midnight. The wise virgins made sure they had oil for their lamps, so they would see Him when He comes. However, there were five of the virgins that didn’t properly prepare and didn’t have any oil for their lamps. There was such darkness at the time of His return that they could not see Him when He came, neither could they see the path they would have to travel to get to the wedding celebration.
Take time to consider. Look at our world today. The fires, the storms, the division and the rise of violence in the land. One could say that we are living in the hour of darkness, also known as midnight. The question that we in the Church need to ask ourselves is, “Are you ready to receive the Bridegroom (Christ) when He returns?” If you have not prepared your heart to receive Him when He comes, you will not be a part of the Lord’s rapture. You can prepare to experience the things that are about to befall the earth.
Nevertheless, if you have truly been born again, your soul will be saved. You need not fear the second death, but you will experience the hard times that are coming.
My brother and my sister I pray that we all will be ready when He comes. By the grace of God I’m believing that me and my household will be ready. What about you?
